School Board Candidate Courtney VandeBunte with her husband, Blake, and their three children: Camellia (5), Asher (7), and Magnolia (9).

Born and raised in Flagler, Courtney attended Old Kings Elementary School, Indian Trails Middle School and graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School. Courtney played on the basketball team and was a part of the Future Educators of America club.

Courtney earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Florida State University in 2009. After spending the summer exploring our beautiful country in a 1971 VW bus, she landed her first teaching job in Connecticut. Missing the warm weather and her family, she headed back home to join and enhance the educational system that was the motivation and foundation of her academic success.

Courtney supported the growth of her students through hands-on learning and exploration of how they can help their community while learning. Check out her experience to learn more about her service-based learning and to see specific examples of her students in action.

Courtney currently works remotely designing curricula for various public education clients. She enjoys beach days, reading, and hanging out with her husband, kids, and pets.
